Does Lack of Career
Satisfaction Lead to
Job Search?
PORTLAND, Ore., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Job seeking appears to be on the
minds of employees according to a poll released today by The Career
Exposure Network.
"We asked the question about job satisfaction to take a real-time pulse
on the condition of the workforce," said JillXan Donnelly of The Career
Exposure Network. "From the results, we've found that only one-third of
employees are inspired or satisfied with their current jobs and a lot of
employees are looking for new positions."
TOP
The poll was conducted over a two week period on the Network's niche
sites CareerWomen.com, DiversitySearch.com and MBACareers.com to
determine if a lack of job satisfaction is leading more people to seek
new positions. Approximately half of all women polled are staying in
positions that are not satisfying while 85% of diversity and MBA
qualified employees indicate that they are actively looking for new
opportunities.
"From this survey we've found that women aren't satisfied with their
current job because of lack of `fit' with company, while MBAs are
looking elsewhere due to lack of career advancement opportunities.
Diversity employees, however, state that their working relationship with
their boss is the most significant reason for lack of satisfaction in
the workplace," continued Donnelly. "This is what is driving more than
50% of our viewers to seek new opportunities."
When asked what inspires employees in the workplace, the responses were
